Have you found that your writing flowed more easily than usual as a result of the current prompt?

The bus shelter in the rain.

Whether it has, or whether you have been mired in a literary drought (isn’t mixing weather and metaphors fun?), you are welcome to join fellow writers on this Thursday, June 22nd at the Lawrenceburg Public Library at 6:00pm – rain gear optional!

This soggy prompt might open up a watershed of ideas:

The bus shelter in the rain

Of course you know the routine – just write whatever you’d like using the prompt as inspiration, but limiting your masterpiece to 500 words or fewer.

Our next WordWrites Guild meeting will be held at the Lawrenceburg Public Library at 6:00pm on Thursday, June 22nd – rain or shine!

You are more than welcome to share your talents, questions, works-in-progress, or simply a love of words with fellow wordsmiths at this week’s WordWrites Guild meeting at 6:00pm at the Lawrenceburg Public Library. We will be reading our literary homework based upon the following assignment:

  • a former child star
  • the last day of school

You might be surprised, entertained; even moved, by the varied and personal writing that has been inspired by one set of prompts. It’s like recess for words!

The Carter Family Knew …

… to always stay on the sunny side of life. Well, that has been easy for most of us as any lingering rchild-830988_1920ain and gloom have given way to sunshine at long last!

This is a perfect time of the year to sit on the beach, find a quiet spot under the night sky, or simply open the window near your desk and have fun with your imagination.

The following writing prompts might be good starting points, and 500 or 200 or less than 100 words might be just enough to tell your own story about:

  • a former child star
  • the last day of school

Bring your lyrics, poem, essay – anything you might like – to the next WordWrites Guild meeting on May 25th, at the Lawrenceburg Public Library at 6:00pm.  It’s a great place to share your creativity!

It’s almost here – the annual transformation of April showers into May flowers. On April 27th, you are invited to join WordWrites Guild for a stroll through the garden of language, into the arbor of prose, while listening to the fountain of dialogue – all at the Lawrenceburg Public Library.

This meeting’s prompt asks what can you come up with that includes all of the following – using no more than 500 words?

A can of Easy Cheese
The way she made tea
To be the great seducer

And there you have it – perhaps not the tranquil path, or the floral bouquet of words you might have anticipated, but an interesting prompt – and one that engourages the ideas in your head to grow like weeds!

Enjoy the view …
