Sometimes the best way to celebrate spring is by ignoring the weather, gathering an armload of flowers, and singing out loud.

When you do sing out loud or hum or bob your head without a sound, what tune are you hearing? Is it an old standard made famous by Frank or Dean? Is it a jaunty snippet from a classic television program, or is it your favorite aria?

Whatever the music, you dear writer, are invited to be a lyricist this month. Choose the tune and write the words, then share your musical moment with fellow song-stylists on Thursday, April 12th in the Depot Room of the Lawrenceburg Public Library at 6:00pm.

If you’d rather not sing your way through the evening, never fear – the fun is in the writing, so there will be no need to practice scales or stock up on lozenges. Reading newly crafted lyrics for old favorites will be just as entertaining – and wonderfully free from sharps and flats!

We’re looking forward to seeing  – and hearing? – you on

the second Thursday in April.
